Why IB Biology?

The IB is a passport to the world's leading universities — and Biology is its most trusted science pathway

IB Biology is renowned for training students to think, question and investigate like true scientists — exactly the profile sought by elite medical, dental, biomedical and research programmes at Oxford, Cambridge, Ivy League universities and leading institutions worldwide.

Unlike purely content-driven exams, IB Biology assesses your child's ability to design experiments, interpret data and evaluate scientific claims. Our programme goes beyond the syllabus to build these higher-order skills through hands-on practicals, critical analysis and inquiry-based teaching.

The Internal Assessment accounts for a significant 20% of the final grade — a portion your child can largely secure through expert guidance. We mentor students through their independent investigation from concept to conclusion, turning the IA into a genuine advantage.

IB Biology Assessment Components

Complete preparation across every component, for both Higher and Standard Level

Paper 1: Multiple Choice

Rapid-fire knowledge and application questions

Paper 2: Data-Based & Extended Response

Data analysis, practical-based and extended essays

Paper 3: Option & Practical Skills

Option topic plus practical and experimental questions

Internal Assessment (IA)

Independent scientific investigation worth 20%

Paper 1: Multiple Choice

Rapid-fire knowledge and application questions

Higher Level (HL)

Students answer 46 multiple-choice questions spanning all eleven HL topics. We train students to eliminate distractors systematically and manage time under pressure, turning speed into a scoring weapon.

Standard Level (SL)

Students answer 30 multiple-choice questions across the six core topics. Our approach builds instant recall of essential concepts and sharpens the quick reasoning skills the paper rewards.
